im currently staying at a hotel and am trying to connect to xbox live (im using a 360) This is my current setup Ethernet cable (from the wall) to laptop. Laptop setup ad hoc. Xbox 360 connect to ad hoc. wall - ethernet cable - laptop - ad hoc - xbox 360 When i try to connect to xbox live the test fails and it tells me i cant obtain an ip address. I havnt tried to manually assign an ip address because im connected to a public hotspot and it hasnt worked for anyone else on forums. because this is temporary i will not be buying any routers... im using windows 7 and a wireless usb adapter if that helps.
